At the 2025 Design It Forward Kentucky Competition, 27 teams were tasked with designing the visual identity and several deliverables for 3 Friends Animal Rescue. Each team had 7 hours to ideate, design, and refine deliverables and 5 minutes to present the final products.
I worked with fellow designers Alyssa Vena and Adriana Trimpe to create designs that captured the story of 3 Friends Animal Rescue. My team's proposal won Second Place.
PROCESS
We began generating ideas by researching the company's social medias and mission statement, collecting visual inspiration, and sketching concepts.
We were particularly inspired by the company owner's involvement in the military, and we decided to utilize a dog tag motif to meaningfully reference this. Identification, belonging, and connection became key guiding traits for the brand.
VISUAL IDENTITY
The visual identity, conceptualized by the team, was digitalized by Alyssa Vena. We worked to refine the logo lockups and develop a brand color palette and typography.
PRINT DELIVERABLES
Our team created a rack card and brochure for our print deliverables. We utilized the brand color palette, type, and illustrations that we previously created. The dog tag motif was essential to these deliverables; it served as a tool to organize information while emphasizing the story of the company.
Alyssa Vena digitalized the visual identity for the company. Adriana Trimpe developed the illustrations and patterns. I designed the Rack Card and developed some final mockups.
